I earned a BA in Political Science at University of California, Santa Barbara, but discovered computers along the way. Despite the liberal arts degree, I’m a geek at heart and have been happily working in the field of technical communication for over 27 years. I stayed in Santa Barbara, CA, until 1991, when I emigrated to Israel. I now live in Karmiel, a small city in the north, with my husband, Gill Cohen, and one fat cat. I now focus on technical communication consulting and training for clients in Israel, Europe, and the States. My parents still live in Seattle.
Hey, look at that, it's the mysterious Leigh Guren! Long time, no nothin' ... still remember you from first grade (yes, you've changed a bit)! Hope to see you at the big reunion this July.
Great question. For some reason, many people think I am an attorney, so maybe it is my old debating skills that lead them to that conclusion. I do see David Levant a couple of times a year and he is an attorney, so he probably is using those old debating skills.
Sounds like based on your profile, you are NOT using all of those old forsenics skills.
I look forward to seeing you in September. I have moved all of 15 minutes (with traffic) from my parents.
Hi Leigh. Sorry to miss seeing you last year at Ben's but glad to hear how you're doing. I've gotten a little info over the years via Christine, but not lots. Am looking forward to having her and Tom back in the area a bit more now. Hope next time you're around we can perhaps connect.
Leigh!
It is so much fun to hear from everyone! This site is just great. I LOVE project management! I've been a project coordinator for four years now, and it was definitely the reason for pursuing a degree in project management. I can't wait to talk to you more this summer about your society (and exchange emails in the meantime.) Delete Comment
Leah,
Great photo -- it looks warm there!
We haven't picked a date for the 30th reunion, yet -- any preferences that would make it easier for you to attend?

Hi Leah - I am well. It's lovely to hear from you. I almost got to see you a couple of years ago when Ben Slivka got a dinner gathering together - but you had a family illness and had to return to Israel. I hope to attend the reunion this summer. Any chance you'll be back this way then? Regards, Susan

If memory serves, I borrowed a book from you in 11th grade that I never returned. I may still have it somewhere. Should I mail it to you?
Too bad you won't be able to make it! Maybe I'll run into you at an STC meeting one of these years ....
It sounds like you're doing well. We have two cats that adopted us about a year ago. They aren't fat yet, but it's only a matter of time...
