I know it's not a stock paint, though the fender skirts (not in this picture) are the original color, and this isn't too far off. It has had other updates, too-- a '53 inline six (235), headers, electronic ignition, twelve-volt electrical, seat belts--though it still has the old vacuum assist wipers, which means if you are accelarating uphill in a rainstorm you can't see anything 'cuz the wipers have stopped completely.
But if you have a '50 Dodge pickup, I'm preaching to the choir, I know. Tell me about it!
Yes, well, I've been driving the '51 Chevy most of the summer, though it is true that Gina had to rescue me twice when the fuel pump went out. I've replaced it, and the master cylinder, and it runs AND stops!
I understand that our progeny are now going to concerts together at the gorge. Who would've thought? I know my oldest in now 21 and a college graduate, and I sure remember when she was born, but I sure don't feel twenty-one years older now...
I look forward to seeing you soon, too. I was in Seattle last WE for my parents 50th, and apparently I'll be back at the end of September.
Wow, that's a big change after a long time with the firm, but I sure get what you mean. And it's a good point for change. Yeah, let's catch up for lunch soon. Can you e-mail me on your regular account? I'm afraid I don't have your contact info. tlaughlin@lorig.com OR laughlintaylor@earthlink.net
Hey Greg- what a small world! Mike Turcott was a sgt at the academy when I went through. How funny. In fact I did the "spoof" on him at graduation. He would ride around on a bike with the hair net blowing around from under his helmet while we were on the drive track running practicals. Hilarious. Glad to hear that you keep in touch with the gang. Would love to catch up with you all at some point. Can't believe it's nearly 30 years. Do you have an email for Whitz? I've been meaning to send something I've been holding on to for all these years back to him and just never got around to tracking him down. my email is hgilly42@yahoo.com Give a hello to the guys next time you see them and hopefully we can all get together at some point this year. Also ask your wife to say hello to Kelli for me... it's been AGES!! take care... H
Greg... I found your business card in a car I was searching after arresting the driver... it was among about 100 parking tickets. this guy must have parked in your spot and you left it with a threat about towing his car next time. That was a few years ago and I had wanted to try the number and see if it was you, but lost it, so I'm glad you're on this site... and with a son at Garfield.. the circle is complete. Am looking forward to a reunion... 30 years tho... WOW!
